After 5 years of blog hiatus, here I am once again.
So let’s talk about why I actually stopped - it is quite simple. I was a FEI steward for 7 years and while I tried to blog in the beginning, it always felt like I had to choose my words and be a representative of them. And it always felt like I couldn’t actually say things I wanted to and it made blogging really a laboring task rather than just a way to express my true thoughts on the state of dressage. While I do enjoy recording my personal process with my own horses, it does get rather repetitive quite quickly.
Now that I am no longer a FEI official, it does make a lot of sense to pick it once again.I am trying to do it in English this time around, since all of my other social media accounts are in English also.
My reasons for not blogging as an official might not be as you would imagine them to be. I am not overly critical of the system, because I have seen a bit of the inner workings and know what is expected of the officials. I also know some really good people still acting as officials. But then I also know some of the blatant buffoonery going on regarding minuscule matters, so I am not in complete and utter awe of the organization either.
If you are new here: Hi, my name is Liidia and I have some horses and as suggested by the blog name I dabble in amateur dressage. I have a stable at home and two of my horses are living in a sports stable. At home I have 3 retired horses (one of them is not mine) and two shetlands. My distinctive equestrian trait is that I am unable to sell a horse ever. My first horse has been with me for 16 years and he is 20 this year. We still go out on hacks and he enjoys it a lot. My distinctive trait as a person is to believe that people in general are good and do not want to hurt others. I have been proven wrong countless times.
So let’s see where this round of blogging energy takes me.
